Adam’s Bridge – Mannar Tour (2nd Day)   Adam’s Bridge also known as Rama’s Bridge or Rama Setu is a chain of limestone shoals, between Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, off the southeastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India, and Mannar Island, off the northwestern coast of Sri Lanka. Geological evidence suggests that this bridge is a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka.

Doric Bungalow


Doric Bungalow – Mannar Tour (1st Day – Part 3)   Doric Bungalow in Arippu East, Mannar used by Sri Lanka’s (then Ceylon) first British Governor, Sir Frederick North (1798-1805) for the supervision of pearl fishery operations remains neglected. The bungalow, constructed in the year 1804 during the British period, has been declared as a protected archaeological monument. It was constructed in the Greek Architectural Tradition with bricks and mortar. However, it has decayed and eroded over the years as observed by the Auditor General at an audit inspection in October 2011.

Madhu Church – Mannar Tour (1st Day – Part 2)   Madhu Church – The Shrine of Our Lady of Madhu is a Roman Catholic Marian shrine in Mannar district of Sri Lanka. With a history of over 400 years, this shrine acts as a center for pilgrimage and worship for Sri Lankan Catholics. The site is considered as the holiest Catholic shrine in the island and is a well known place of devotion for both Tamil and Sinhalese Catholics.

Thanthirimale Raja Maha Viharaya – Mannar Tour (1st Day -Part1)   The ancient place of Buddhist worship, Thanthirimale Raja Maha Viharaya is situated in a picturesque valley in the North Central Province, not far away from Anuradhapura, the glorious ancient capital of Sri Lanka. Built in the Third Century BC and used by King Devanampiyatissa. The area was first civilized by a minister of King Vijaya called Upatissa. When King Devanampiyatissa first visited the temple in Thanthirimale, it was known by another name – Thivanka Bamunu-Gama.

St. Clair’s Falls – Little Niagara of Sri Lanka   St.Clair’s Falls කියන්නේ ටික කාලෙකට කලින් ගොඩක් කතාබහට ලක් උන දිය ඇල්ලක්. ඒකට හේතුව තමයි ඉහල කොත්මලේ විදුලි බලාගාරය හින්ද (St. Clair’s Falls) දිය ඇල්ල වහන්න වෙන එක. පරිසර සංවිධාන කොච්චර උත්සහ කලත් St.Clair’s දිය ඇල්ල ආරක්ෂා කරගන්න බැරි උනා. ඒත් අපි යන දවසේ අපි ගොඩක් වාසනාවන්ත උනා. ඒ දවස් වල ගොඩක් වැස්ස හින්ද එදා ජලාශයේ වාන් දොරටු ඇරලා තිබුනේ. ඒ හින්ද අපිට ලස්සනට St.Clair’s දිය ඇල්ල බලාගන්න පුළුවන් උනා.
